Polichrono | Properties For Sale in Polichrono

Polihrono is touristic town of Kassandra, on the north east of the peninsula between Kriopigi and Hanioti. Polihrono is about 90 km from the airport of Thessaloniki. The population of Polihrono is about 1000 permenant citizens and the characteristic of the town is the long sandy beach and the stone long beach road which is full of shops, restaurants, café-bars and the evening hours of the summer is closing for cars and is open only for people who walking around. From Polihrono the clear days you could see the west side of Sithonia peninsula and the night are visible during the night are visible the lights of the two biggest Sithonia towns, Neos Marmaras and Nikiti. The main road separates the town of Polihrono in two parts, the part under the road and nearer to the beach where are all shops and the tourist life and the part above the road which is quitter and consists mostly from private properties and a few small hotels. Polihrono situated very close to Hanioti, only approximately 4 km and the two towns except the main road they are connected also with the parallel old Kassandra road which passing near the coast, is all straight and can be easily walkable or with bicycle without traffic and fast running fast.

From Polihrono there is a road with access to it from the main road, which goes over the mountain which separates west and east side of the peninsula and takes you in about 6 km to the town of Kassandrino and then to Fourka. This is a very good access to the other side to avoid to drive all around and like this you save a lot of km.

The attraction of Polihrono is ‘Mavrobara’ which is the name of the turtle lake which is situated somewhere on the mountain which separates the two sides of Kassandra. The distance from Polihrono is about 3 km and the area is very natural and beautiful, surrounded by pine trees. In this turtle lake they appear two different rare types of water turtles,  Emys orbicularis and Mauremys capsica. Recently the path which take to mavrobara been cleaned and signpost and is a very attractive entrance way, especially to for the families with little kids.

Properties for sale in Polichrono

In the building plan of Polihrono, down of the main road the majority of properties for sale are one or two bedroom apartments. In this part of the town there are old available old options for sale by private owners but also some new developments. On both of sides of the borders of the building plan of Polihrono near the sea there are some small maisonettes with two bedrooms and a small number of recent luxury detached houses. On the outskirts of the town towards Kriopigi there are some bigger and spacious developments close to the sea with bigger detached houses and some private large villas. On the other side towards Hanioti there are mostly some very expensive private villas, this part between Polihrono and Hanioti is one of the most expensive areas of Halkidiki. Above the main road there are good opportunities for affordable building plots. The building plan of the town been extended a couple of times recently and in this area there are very nice plots of sale, of approximately 500 sq.m. or more with possibility to build 200 sq.m., some of them with spectacular views, easy access and prices that start from 50000 euros. The property prices in Polihrono are higher if we compare them with some places of the west coast but cheper from Hanioti and Pefkohori which are very close geographicaly.
