Mola Kaliva is a great small, seaside family resort on the south-west coast of the first peninsula Kassandra, about an hour from Thessaloniki. Locally it is referred to as the beach of Kassandrino, which is a quaint village located 7km away in the mountains. It is predominantly a summer resort but a few people are living there permanently, which is possible because of the close proximity to Nea Skioni and Kalandra. 

The sea in this area is crystal clear and a wonderful place to swim and snorkel. The beach is also never overcrowded even in the high season. It is a generally a mixture of sandy and pebbly sections but a short way into the sea it is completely sandy. You can also find exquisite beaches where the forest meets the shore and huge pines trees cast shadows over the sand providing natural, scented shade. Mola Kaliva also enjoys an amazing view of the sunset due to its south-south westerly orientation. 

Provisions in Mola Kaliva. The village has a couple of supermarkets opening from May until October and they sell everything you might need including fresh locally baked bread. There are a handful of family-run cafe-bars, beachfront restaurants/fish taverns and several relaxed beach bars with parasols and sunbeds for customers. Out of season there are shops and services only 5km away. 

Mola Kaliva accommodation consists of small family run apartments. There are no resort hotels in the village itself, however a couple of kilometres outside Mola Kaliva is one of the longest standing hotels on the Kassandra peninsula called Hotel Mendi, which is named after its location being next to the ancient kingdom of Mendi. The beach there is perfect – long, wide and very sandy.

Even though it is a relatively small place, Mola Kaliva properties span the whole spectrum from the very cheap apartments to luxury private beachfront villas worth multi-millions. There are many large independent villas on both the first and second line as well as inland on the mountainside with spectacular sea views so it is quietly upmarket but as an area though the prices here are reasonable and offer good value for money. Besides the private villas, other available options include 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and 2 or 3 bedroom maisonettes.
